The Black Summer Fires of 19/20 were devastating for Mallacoota and the surrounding communities. At Gipsy Point and Genoa, the locals were left defenceless, seeing the loss of two houses as there was no way to fight the ferocious blaze that destroyed more than 120 homes in Mallacoota. Our CFA truck has been re-deployed to another remote community and as such, we are trying to raise funds to purchase essential fire fighting equipment to protect our community.
